What are the mechanics that keep the dust and ice limited to Saturn's celestial equatorial field, and would Earth have a ring if there were enough dust and ice around?
i think earth has enough dust and ice the problem is that the gravitional force of earth is so high that it keeps all the dust and ice on its surface not in atmosphere like Saturn
i think it is the gravitational pull that maintains the dust and ice in the form of ring around planet, and that gravitational pull provides the centripetal force to the dust and ice particles ...also there is a concept of tidal forces that would destroy a self-gravitating fluid body..They are also within the planet’s magnetosphere, and in the case of Uranus, they are within the upper reaches of the planetary atmosphere.and these factors are absent on earth because of these there exists a ring around saturn but not earth
@ghazi what is magnetosphere?
region up to which planet's magnetic field is the predominant effective it is also one of the reasons to hold those particles
ok thanks
