OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

PRECALCULUS : find an interval of length 1 in which f(x) = x^3 – 4x^2 + 2x – 7 is guaranteed to have a zero.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

function is continous so we need to find an interval like [a,b] for which f(a)>0 and f(b)<0 or f(a)<0 and f(b)>0

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

intermediate value theorem should i setup a table ?

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

x, f(x) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Start putting some integer values in, say: 1, 2, 3 etc. When you get results which change sign, you know that there will be a zero between then. Yes do a table if you like.

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

oh its lot easier than i thought it was.... thnks !

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

i got the interval (3, 4) thnks a lot xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well done :)
