What are the prime factors of 18? A 2, 9 B 3, 6 C 2, 3, 6, 9 D 2, 3, 3 Is it D?!?!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. You can know simply because A, B, and C all contain composite numbers.

In addition, 2 x 3 x 3 = 18, so that answer checks out. 2, 3, and 3 are all prime. 18 = 9 x 2. And 9 = 3 x 3. Therefore 18 = 3 x 3 x 2. Alternatively 18 = 6 x 3, and 6 = 3 x 2. Therefore 18 = 3 x 3 x 2.
