subtract - 2x ^2 - 5x +1 from 4x ^2 +5x - 1

6x^2+10x-2

Thanks, is it possible you can show how you got that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x^2+5x-1 (-)-2x^2-5x+1 Since you're subtracting a negative, you change all the symbols of the equation you're subtracting. So the new problem would be: 4x^2+5x-1 +2x^2+5x-1 ------------ 6x^2+10x-2

Oh okay, Thanks so much
