Well consider this, if a 12 ounce bag costs 3.12, if you divide these you will get the price per ounce.

3.12/12 = $0.26

However, in the second question you want to buy a 16 ounce bag at 3.84, when you divide that you get,

3.84/16 = $0.24

If you get the 16 ounce bag, you are paying at $0.24, which means you save 2 cents per ounce. Multiply by 16, and you get $3.2 dollars. Which means you have saved $3.2. You have saved more than enough to buy another 12 ounce bag lol.

Ok look. If you buy the 16 ounce package, you have a smaller price per ounce when compared to the 12 ounce package. So you want to buy the 16 ounce package because you will pay 24 cents per ounce, rather than 26 cents. The difference is 2 cents.
