(2x-1)^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, you're squaring 2x-1. Any idea on how to start?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use this formula (a-b)^2 = a^2 -2ab +b^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not to sure...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, essentially you're going to multiply 2x-1 by 2x-1. The problem setup will look like this: (2x-1)(2x-1) Does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, that helps..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok lets do it by using the above formula i mentioned (2x-1)^2 = (2x)^2 -2(2x)(1) +1^2 = 4x^2-4x+1

Makes perfect sense now!

Awesome! Glad to have helped! :)
