A force is applied to a 2.8 kg mass and produces 5.5 m/s^2 acceleration. What acceleration would be produced by the same force applied to a 5.7 kg mass?

(2.8 kg*5.5 m/s^2) / 5.7 kg
F = ma Figure out what the force is by multiplying the original mass times the given acceleration. Using this same equation, solve for a (acceleration) and use the force you just calculated to find the new acceleration for the second mass: a = F/m
