The syllabus tells us to download Python release 2.5.4, however on the Python webpage it shows that 2.5.4 was upgraded to 2.5.6 by a newer bugfix release, and subsequently has been updated by numerous released after that. Will we have security issues by downloading this earlier release? Further can I use this on my netbook?

They say that you can use any 2.5, 2.6 or 2.7 version of Python for the course. But the 3.0 version is not compatible because there were many changes: http://wiki.python.org/moin/Python2orPython3. I recomend you to use the 2.7 version, that's what i'm using and it work perfectly.
ok, thank you Daniel
