How did the ideas of the enlightenment lead to revolutions in erupoe and the U.S? I JUST NEED SOME IDEAS OR EXAMPLES.
Well revolution was against the old regime, aka monarchy... And what is monarchy? Well it's the King's Rule, Luis the # (don't remember which one). And it was believed that the King was placed into his position by the God, there was something divine about him.
Enlightenment was all for reason. It found contradictions in the so-called "logic of religion" (i made that up, that's why i used quotes). So it's reason vs church's teachings more or less.
But didnt the american revoltion have something to do with the being under britains rule, and britain kept imposing taxes on them, such as in the stamp act and tea act. this angered the american citizens, and they used the enlightenment idea of freedom to help them revolt.????
Oh i was talking about the french revolution.
And idk much about the american revolution yet... If you're willing to wait for a few months, I'll let you know, as soon as I play through AC3
oh. so the french revolution was basicly a monarchy system, which means everyone is under 1 kings rule, the king was louis the 16, whos wife, marie SOMETHING, kept spending their countries money on jewelry. Louis didnt do anything in order to help the country's debt, and so the citizens used the enlightenment idea of freedom to revolt also. Overthrowing the king, and setting up the congress of vienna, which eventually helped with the reformation of the country? <<< IS THAT RIGHT
GOOD JOB!
OH. THANKS
