I really can't understand this assignment. Ps4-Problem 4.. if anyone can explain what is it all about, without solving it i'd be grateful. http://goo.gl/KQ8s4

after working hard all your life, you have saved some money that you can spend during your retirement. during your retirement that money will continue to earn interest. the problem is to find the maximum amount you can withdraw from your account annually and have close to zero left over (at the end of your retirement). the problem specifies using a binary search to solve the problem. did you do the other problems in pset4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@bwCA yes I've answered the other 3 problems in pset4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you be more explicit? what part of problem 4 don't you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean what's the point of solving it with binary search ? I mean we can simply find the annually expence by doing ( retirement_fund/len(postRetirementGrowth)) .. then we will get annual expense easily !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did you try that? how much money do you have left at the end of retirement? 0? does it account for the annual interest that will be earned while drawing down the fund? do you get the correct result with testFindMaxExpenses().?

Hmmm..
