How do you solve please help A log is 47 feet long. Fernando wishes to cut the log into two pieces so hat one piece is 5 feet shorter than the other. How long is each piece?

let x be the longer piece the shorter piece is x - 5 and the total length of the 2 pieces is 47 feet so x + x- 5 = 47 you just need to solve for x
