Avery went to the grocery store. He bought 4 apples and 3 oranges. An apple cost $2.00. At the register Avery spent $20.00. How much is one orange?

OpenStudy (shane_b):

If he bought 4 apples @ $2 each that would be $8 spent on apples. $20-$8=$12. So he spent $12 on oranges...and he bought 3 of them. So how much do you think each orange was?

4

OpenStudy (shane_b):

Yep...expensive oranges.
