What could be a subset of this set- {5, 10, 15, 20, 25,...}

hartnn (hartnn):

what are your choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont have any im suppose to creat one for it

hartnn (hartnn):

ok, subset means a set whose elements are all from given universal set, but is of smaller(or equal) size than the universal set.

hartnn (hartnn):

your universal set is a set of integers which are multiples of 5

hartnn (hartnn):

u can make a subset in which there are integers which are all multiples of 10 like {10,20,30,...} did u understand this ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not really

hartnn (hartnn):

which part ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all parts tbh

hartnn (hartnn):

did u read what i wrote for subset... subset means..... did u try to understand that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i read it an i tried to understand, wat ur saying is that a subset is a set made from all elements in the universal set?

hartnn (hartnn):

yes, here universal set is given to be {5, 10, 15, 20, 25,...} so we pick some of the elements from this and form a subset, i picked alternate elements like 10,20,30...and formed a set of integers which are multiples of 10 got this ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahhhhh the light bulbs are finally going of

hartnn (hartnn):

off? means u did not understand ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so u create a subset from some of the elements of a universal set aka the original set

OpenStudy (anonymous):

srry it sounded wrong i meant i am finally understandin

hartnn (hartnn):

yes, and its ok.

hartnn (hartnn):

can u create one more subset using same logic , for me ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yah sure srry i just saw ur last comment

OpenStudy (anonymous):

20,40,60,80,100,...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does that work @hartnn

hartnn (hartnn):

absolutely! multiples of 20 similarly u can create subsets which are multiples of 15,25,30,40, ....and so on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you soo much for helpin me, i appreciate it

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome, glad to help ^_^
