How can you produce antimatter on Earth without it exploding.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

some radioactive elements will eject positrons, (anti-electrons)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I know. Thanks but how is the process carried out?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

concentrate your source and evacuate the area you could trap positrons it in a electric field some how maybe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay that's great. but how can u keep it from reacting with the the electric field (since it is matter)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, the particles of electric field , photons do not have the specific "charge" that diffrentiates matter from antimatter. It is neither.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm. But I learnt that even if it doesn't have any charge and it comes in contact with antimatter,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, u don't understand the words here - It meant "generalized charge" there are more chrges than just electric. To annihilate some of them must be opposite

OpenStudy (anonymous):

btw mdl is custom here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, I see. thanks
