t= arctan(3/4), find exact values of sin t, cos,t and tan t.

OpenStudy (phi):

can you draw a right triangle and label the angle t and the sides that have length 3 and 4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was thinking a right triangle but wasn't sure.

OpenStudy (phi):

trig (almost by definition) means use right triangles. First step is draw the triangle and label the angle and legs

OpenStudy (phi):

then use pythagoras to find the 3rd side. then use the definitions of sin, cos to find their values

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3,4,5 form a Pythagorean triplet , i.e sum of squares of two if them equals square of other. So, it is a right triangle. 37 degree is the angle opposite to side measuring 3, 53 deg opp to side 4 . Find the required using basic trigo definition.
