What are the possible number of positive real, negative real, and complex zeros of f(x) = 8x4 + 13x3 – 11x2 + x + 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Look for the # of sign changes for positive reals and separately for negative reals. The maximum # of each is the number of sign changes. The actual # is the maximum or a number successively less than that by 2 or 4 or 6, etc, until you hit 0.
