An example of sanctions in your community An example of values in your community An example of norms in your community
If you use OpenStudy as an example of "community", then you can use the Code of Conduct to help you think of examples ( http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct). For example, a sanction in the community is "suspension or banning from the site" if you don't abide by the rules. An individual might sanction you for violating a norm by reporting your behavior to the OpenStudy site moderators. Norms are rules of behavior, usually socially enforced, and not necessarily written down. Most online communities, like OpenStudy, have expectations about how people will behave. Not to use profanity might be one example. The Values of a community like OpenStudy might be collaboration, or the importance of helping one another. The importance of education is probably a value that members of this community share. I hope that helps you to think of examples in other communities you belong to.
Oh, and Problem-solving, teamwork and engagement are clearly values in the OpenStudy community because these are the things that are rewarded.
