can someone explain how the structure of a cellulose molecule relates to the molecule’s function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cellulose is made of Beta Glucose chains, a polysaccharide to be exact. It hydrogen bonds with other cellulose molecules causing it to condense pretty well which accounts for its fibrousness and strength. Another little fact: glycosidic linkages occur between carbons 1-4

and by fibrousness and strength I mean that it essentially clumps together pretty damn well.
