3(5n+4)-4n=78

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did u get this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You do the distributive property on 3(5n+4) which says that 3(5n+4)=(3x5n)+(3x4)=15n+12. so then you have 15n+12-4n=78. which can be re written as 15n-4n+12=78. 15n-4n=11n. so you have 11n+12=78. subract 12 from each side you have 11n=66. divide both sides by 11 giving you n=6..im sorry i mis typed above

owe okay can u tell me if this question is write

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4(4k-2)-1=-89 16k-8-1=-89

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i confused now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that is equivalent to 16k-9=-89 add 9 to both sides 16k=80. k=80/16=5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so K=5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

owe okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im really confused on this question 5+6(1-4x)=-109

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its alot like the other ones. it could be rewritten as 6(1-4x)+5=-109. does that help you with where to start?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

11(1-4x)=-109 11-44x=-109 -109=-98 x=-98

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have to do the distributive property first. so 6(1-4x)+5=-109 6-24x+5=-109 11-24x=-109 24x-11=109 24x=120 x=120/24=5
