In your own words, explain why you think a dilation by scale factor of D is the same as a similarity ratio of D. Now look around you. Give at least two examples of pairs of objects that are dilations of each other. Also give your best guess as to their similarity ratios. (No right answer exists.) My answer is : An example of dilation would be a basketball because it starts off big and aired up and over time the air comes out and it becomes flatter and flatter so the ratio would be 2:1. Another example would be your clothes when you first get them they are just your size and then you wash
and dry them and they shrink but still have the same shape so the ratio would be 2:1. But i need maybe at least one more example for more points.
Try bicycle tires. they work the same as the basketball, but with innertubes.
