well basically, this problem is meant to trick you with the |-x| (absolute value ||) brackets

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you have any negative number inside these brackets || for example |-7| is actually just positive 7

-8, 5, 6, |–7|, 8 = -8,5,6,7,8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8, 5, 6, |–7|, 8 so the third row is from least to greatest :)
