a. (-1, -28) is a relative minimum and (3, 36) is a relative maximum b. (3, 32) is a relative minimum and (-1, -31) is a relative maximum c. (-1, -31) is a relative minimum and (3, 32) is a relative maximum d. (3,36) is a relative minimum and (-1, -28) is a relative maximum

How would this be solved? I just started a pre-cal. class and I am not understanding any of it

you need to differentiate it once, and then the differentiated equation you got f'(x) put f'(x) = 0 and find the factors where the equation becomes zero. those will be the points of maxima or minima, to find which is maxima or minima, put the value of the factor in f(x) if the answer is negative, you have the point of maxima, and if the value is positive, then the point is minima ;) you get it?

Oooh, I see (:

But I'm not getting any answers, I just keep getting 0
