If the measures of two of the angles of a triangle are 42° and 48°, which of the following words best describes this triangle? Choose one answer. a. right b. cannot be determined c. obtuse d. acute
I think the answer is D but im not sure
im just guessing because the angles are less thn 90 degrees
How many degrees are in a triangle is the first question you ask? 180 degrees. Then you will get 42,48,90 when added up the angles present. An acute triangle by definition is 45,45,90. So, you are on the right track and are correct.
ohk great so im rite?
Sorry I meant to say right triangle.
wait so im wrong?
yes
where did u get 90 from
nevermind i got how u got 90
are you sure I did not mean to confuse you
ohk so a right angle is 45 45 90... yea thts rite oh ohk so its right triangle
no i got it u added 42 and48 and subtracted from 180
Exactly
Ok the way i approached this question is...first i counseled the first answer which is right angle triangle from my list thus remaining with three answers. Then i have this burning question that came...personally i think they talked of a triangle...and as normal a triangle MUST add up to 180 degrees...so if you take 48 plus 42 it gives you 90 degrees...and since it must add up to 180 then definitely the other remaining angle is 90 degrees. So if this triangle has the following three angles 48, 42 and 90 which all add up to 180 then definitely it is a RIGHT angle triangle...coz of the 90 degrees...
Thanks @econ
