Greatly appreciate any help!! In the figure below, BC and AF intersect at point G What is the value of x? a)240.4 b)209.4 c)119.4 d)90.2
i got 262.9 witch is obviously not one of the choices PLEASE HELP /:
Use triangle ABG to get angle AGB.
Then you know that angle CGF = angle AGB because they are vertical.
Then use what you know about the sum of the interior angles of a pentagon.
yeah i got 90.2 for AGB witch i know is th same for CGF because they are both congruent but after that i dont know what i did wrong
What is the sum of the angles in a pentagon?
540 right?
Yep, so just double check your subtraction.
but just to be sure this is basically the equation to solve right? 540= 90.2 +96.9+90
omg im so stupid i see what i did wrong i misread one of the angle
Don't forget the 143.5 down there at F . .
yeah that was my error lol
so the answer i 209.6
Hmm, check again..
um well i cant see anything wrong, so please explain if i missed something
Is this the equation you ended up with? 540 = 90.2 + 96.9 + 90 + 143.5 + x
yes sure
no excuse me my equation was 540=96.9+143.5+90
shouldnt 90.2 also be added to the equation because it a five sided figure and we only have four sides angles?
okies the real answer is 119.4 you were suppose to add all four sides and subtract it from 540
There ya' go!
Thank you so much for helping me!
