Write as a fraction. 30 : 48

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is a ratio. To turn it into a fraction, it would be --> 30 over 48 or 30/48. IF you wanted to simplify it, it would become 5/8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide 30 by 48,can u figure out the answer now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wouldn't it be 30/78 or 5/13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because think about 1:1 ... that would be 1/2 as there are 2 parts

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jamesballsfacenow vmisono is wrong it is not 5/8, it is 5/13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@aceace How am I wrong? to simplify it, you need to have the same common factor that goes in 30 and 48. That number would be 6. 6 goes in 30 by 5 and 48 by 8. Therefore, it is 5/8. 6*8=48 So my answer is correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@vmisono then turn 1flour:1sugar into a fraction where that is the ratio of the ingredients of a cake.... what fraction of it is flour?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 four and 1 sugar into fraction would be 1:1 which is 1/1 =1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you put all flour and no sugar? @satellite73 what is the answer to this question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jim_thompson5910 @radar @Directrix What is the answer to this question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@aceace dude, get the fck off.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jamesballsfacenow you have gotten the wrong answer XD

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

30 : 48 5 : 8 ... divide both parts by the GCF 6 5/8 so the ratio 30 : 48 turns into 5/8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What about 1:1? the first part would be half of the whole thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jamesballsfacenow What matters is, do you understand the problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@vmisono yes, thank you dear.
