divide 4x^6/4x^2

hartnn (hartnn):

hint: \(\huge \frac{x^n}{x^m}=x^{n-m}\)

hartnn (hartnn):

4 can be cancelled from numerator and denominator anyways...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am trying to get it

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

so you have (4x^6)/(4x^2) = (4/4)(x^6/x^2) now look at what @hartnn said.. use x^6 for x^n use x^2 for x^m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^4?

hartnn (hartnn):

thats correct! good :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank goodness thank you!! I am taking a test.

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome ^_^
