ADD::-|5+(-3)|+|-14|+(-2).... i got 4 as the answer but in my notes its 12. Which one is correct?

i got 10... I added the first time instead of subtracting -_- thank you!
i had
-|5+(-3)|+|-14|+(-2)

-5+-3+14-2

-8+14-2

-6-2 =4
