The difference of the ages of two friends is negative five. The sum of the two ages is twenty-five. How old is each of the friends?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hmm this one is really straight forward c: We just need to come up with a variable for each friend. How bout A and B. The difference of age of the two friends is -5 A - B = -5 The sum of the ages of the two is 25. A + B = 25 So they made it easy on us, we can probably combine these right away can't we? c:

yes, so the B will cancel out!

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Yay
