Lacey decides to take her five year old son to the history museum. The price for the child's ticket is 2.75 dollars less than the price for the adult's ticket. If you represent the price for the child's ticket using the variable "x", how would you write the algebraic expression for the adult's ticket price?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am interested too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we'll see how @TheViper solve it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol yes we will he is a genius

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aha @proudmommy2be

OpenStudy (theviper):

Then adult's ticket = x+2.75 $

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no @TheViper

OpenStudy (theviper):

lol why :O I m too confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

child should be x somehow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it should be 2.75x but the rest I m not sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow you both gave answers that are available yikes

OpenStudy (theviper):

If adult's ticket is x then child's ticket is \(x-2.75\) But here child's ticket is x therefore adult's ticket is \(x+2.75\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in that case the question is too simple, there should be some struggle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what answers do you have in the test? @proudmommy2be

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2.75x x over 2.75 x2.75 x + 2.75

OpenStudy (theviper):

I m right 100% .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, i agree with @TheViper

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol i love you guys but thankx

OpenStudy (theviper):

:)

OpenStudy (theviper):

:-)

OpenStudy (theviper):

:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i always want to solve problems difficult ways lol
