does your instructor or you text book specify the order in which to process the mathematic operators?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Explain PEMDAS to her

OpenStudy (anonymous):

P Parentheses first E Exponents (ie Powers and Square Roots, etc.) MD Multiplication and Division (left-to-right) AS Addition and Subtraction (left-to-right)

Thanks ChmE

OpenStudy (anonymous):

PEMDAS- order of operations its the order in which you do operations P- parenthesis E-exponents M-multiplication D-division A-addition S-subtraction basically you look at it and say, does it have any parenthesis you do the operations in the parenthesis also following pemdas once all the parenthesis are gone, you go onto exponents then once the exponents are gone, you do the multiplication then division etc etc

Multiplication and division as well as addition and subtraction have the same priority. Do them from left to right like chris said

OpenStudy (wwe123):

its 11

OpenStudy (wwe123):

10 − 64 ÷ 8 + 3^2 10-8+9 10+1 11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please avoid giving out the answer- code of conduct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'd like to ammend what complete idiot said when talking about multiplication and division. They are the same priority. You don't always do multipliction first unless is comes first from left to right. ex) 20/5*2 is not 2. it is 8. 20/5=4*2=8

OpenStudy (wwe123):

@proudmommy2be is use BODMAS B brackets (i)[] (ii){} (iii)() (iv)- O of D divide M multiple A add S sub

OpenStudy (anonymous):

BODMAS works well for a proud mama to be! mas is much, much bod! Cool.
