It's actually very difficult to lose weight through exercise alone. Your muscles are designed to be efficient and use as little energy as possible. Exercise is good for toning muscles and strengthening your heart, though. Cardiovascular exercise and low intensity weight training will help you to become healthier, although not necessarily thinner.

Cardio is a great way to lose weight. I lost 40 lbs by doing interval running! You cant just do cardio though, weight loss can be achieved by strength training as well. I ran every day for about 30- 90 minutes (depending on how sore I was from previous runs/workouts) and then I did yoga for 10 minutes, and a strength circuit for 30 :) It did wonders! My abs are sooo much more defined now. I also changed my diet though, I went for the multiple small meals a day and cut out all sugary drinks ( mostly juice was cut out!) I only drank water and ginger ale. You can do this! Get the mindset and get er done ;) Hope this helps :) Its my own personal story.. and description on how i did it.
