What does the author of the following quote think about history(Be sure to support your assertion oh how he/she feels)? Do you agree with their statement? why? Quote: "History is the witness that testifies to the passing of time;it illuminates reality, vitalizes memory, provides guidance in daily life, and brings us tiding of antiquity." -Cicero
First, do you understand the quote?
YES
the author is basically saying that history is a series of past events and we should learn from our mistakes of the past and yeah
i just need an example for a mistake of the past that we could do better or something
Do you have an idea of a big mistake?
umm.. world war 1 causes and how its the same as wold war 2?

how would that help make us realize our mistake or you know......
why did so many people die ? do you know why?
because the ship sinked.... DERRRR
sank*
well, that and because they didn't fill the lifeboats up as much as they should have, and the nearest ship to them when they sent a distress call thought it must be a hoax and ignored it.. how could we learn from this
well now we know to fill the lifeboats as much as we could and when they send a distress call they shouldn't hoax it or ignore it and stuff
