add like terms on the left hand side
OpenStudy (anonymous):
p= -12
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
so -19/-19 = 12/-19 ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
9-10 = ?
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
-1

-10 + 9 = ?
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
-19
OpenStudy (anonymous):
nopes its the same as 9 -10
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
-1
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yaaa

-10p+9p = (-10 + 9 ) p
take the "p" as common
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
got it thanks.
30= -5(6n+6)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
-5(6n+6) = -5 * (6n+6) = -5*6(n+1)
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
couldnt i just distribute the properties: -5(6n) + -5(6)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
surely, its upto u, just do it the easy for u but never to violate mathematics rules

OpenStudy (paystub-2):
so it endd up being -30n + -30
OpenStudy (anonymous):
a little more work, shift -30 to other side .... u have to solve it for n
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
wat du yhu mean?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
look the question says find n right ? if yes , u have to seperate n on one side and the rest on other side
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
so -30+-30 = 30?

nopes dear -30n + -30 = 30
n shud be there too
now use maths operations to find n
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
dats wat i wrote but aanyways so n= 30
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
nopes, u try not to distribute -5 , taking common is better becoz u r simplifying steps, u try that way u will get -2
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
but my answer is suppose to equal 30

u shud write the question as it is and specify the requirements too
OpenStudy (anonymous):
30= -5(6n+6)
answer is n=-2
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
ohhhhh duhh
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
im suppose to show my work though how do i do that not trying to abuse of your confidence but dats why im asking cuz i need help.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
leme try one and rest u shud do ur self, u r supposed to read the properties and do excercise then there will b no problem for u at all

30= -5(6n+6)
= -5 * 6 (n+1)
= -30 (n+1)
now divide both sides by -30 u get
-1 = n+1
now subtract 1 from both sides u get
-1 -1 = n
n = ? is the answer
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
thanks so much can yhu help me on anymore?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yaa but hints
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
kay
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
37= -3 + 5(x+6)
5(x) + 5(6)
5x + 30, so far so good?

continue
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
37= -3 + 35x
+3 -3
40 + 35x, so far so good?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
hmm
u shud use the operation in proper way then u wont stuck at all
leme do a little for u
OpenStudy (anonymous):
37= -3 + 5(x+6)
add 3 to both sides
40 = 5(x+6)
now do what u doing
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
5(x) + 5(6) ?

yaa
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
40= 5x + 30, good?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ya
OpenStudy (anonymous):
r u done
OpenStudy (paystub-2):
40= 5x + 30
-30 -30
10 = 5x
x=2
