Some Geometry help, please? http://imageshack.us/a/img132/5130/bokywades.jpg Is the answer 204in^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@JakeV8 Can you help, please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the sides have area = (1/2)bh = (1/2)(8)(10)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fire

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the base is a hexagon. A hexagon can be thought of as 6 triangles that all share the center point, and each has a base on the outside of the hexagon. Your hexagon has an edge or base length of 8, and the "height" to the center of the base is shown as 4sqrt(3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the area of one of the six mini-triangles that make up the hexagon base is (1/2)(8)(4sqrt(3)) and the total base area is 6 x (1/2)(8)(4sqrt(3)) or 96sqrt(3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry, but I really don't have time. may you please confirm if my answer is right or wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

240cm^2, i meant to say that originally

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just looking at the 6 sides, they total to 240 cm^2. That part sounds right. I just think you need to include the base of the solid figure... the hexagon shape.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so could it be 819?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

working, hold on...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please hurry, i have a VERY limited quantity of time left on this computer. literally, less than a minute!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Base Area = 96sqrt(3) = 166.28, which rounds to 166. Add that to the six sides which have area 240, and I get 316 sq meters total I can double check... could have made an error working fast, but that's what I get.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please, hurry!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good luck, this isn't ideal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

guess 416... I added wrong at first. I am not good with scrolling back and forth, changing tabs, doing math in my head, and trying to it all at high speed. I like helping, but that's a lot of pressure for volunteering my Sunday afternoon.
