jake weighed 150.7 pounds with his army boots on, and 144.9 pounds without them. What is the weight of each boot?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First, subtract 144.9 from 150.7 to find the collective weight of the two boots. (150.7-144.9=5.8 pounds). Then, because a person generally has TWO boots, divide this number by two to get the weight of each boot!
