Can someone please answer my question! :/ The local zoo is filling two water tanks for the elephant exhibit. One water tank contains 34 gal of water and is filled at a constant rate of 4 gal/h. The second water tank contains 30 gal of water and is filled at a constant rate of 2 gal/h. Explain. Let x = the number of hours the tanks are filling and let y = the number of gallons in the tank. What are the constraints on the system? A. both x≥0, y≥0 B. x≥0 only C. y≥0 only D. There are no constraints on the system. A, B, C, or D? Please explain (:
I think A.
Think?
It's A, because the tank van't have negative gallons.
I don't know what they mean by constraints although I'm guessign it means what is limiting the equation so that would mean it can't be more than how much water is in the tub nor how fast it is filling or not filling.
It can't have negative gallons, and it can't be filled for negative hours.
Alright, well thanks guys (:
