There is (on MIT OpenCourseware) a older (2005 I think) version of MIT 6.00 avaiable, so that's why people refer to lecture 4,5 and so on. Anyway, good luck on EDX. If you have any problems, don't be afraid to ask :-)

You need to log in to the edx website, then, if you have already registered for the course, then you will see the week 1 course materials videos and also the week 2 advance postings....
