What is the value of the x variable in the solution to the following system of equations? 2x − y = 6 4x − 2y = 12 A. 0 B. 4 C. x can be any number as there are infinitely many solutions to the system. D. There is no x value as there is no solution to the system.

i think the answer is D, there's no solution

The answer is B) 4. If you plug in 4, for each value of x in both equations and get a value of y for each equation, you can then go back and plug in each x value and y value obtained, to get each side of each equation to equal each other. This will prove that x does equal 4.
