3cos(x)+ 3sin(x)=3

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hmmmmm this doesn't look right :O Are the cosine and sine functions suppose to be squared or no?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the solutions of the equation that are in the interval [0, 2π). (If there is no solution, enter NO SOLUTION.) 3 cos α + 3 sin α = 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[3 \cos x+ 3 \sin x=3\]\[3(\cos x+ \sin x) = 3\]\[\cos (x)+ \sin (x)=1\]\[(\cos x+ \sin x)^2 = 1^2\]\[\cos^2x + 2\cos x \sin x + \sin^2x = 1\]\[\cos^2x + \sin^2x + 2\cos x \sin x= 1 \]\[2\cos x \sin x + 1 = 1\]\[2\cos x \sin x = 0\]

|dw:1349059294622:dw| Hmmmm there is one solution i suppose :) if I did that correctly, it's a little tricky to get through, let me know if this makes sense Alu
