Solve the inequality write the solution in interval notation -x - 1>17

add 1 to both side, after that multiply -1 both side..when you multiply a negative number in an inequality, remember the sign switch

yeah that's the first part, now try the second part as i stated above...or another way to do it is to add -x to both side then -18 to both side...try that and see what you get.
