The local zoo has two water tanks for the elephant exhibit that are leaking One water tank contains 12 gal of water and is leaking at a constant rate of 3 gal/h. The second water tank contains 8 gal of water and is leaking at a constant rate of 5 gal/h. When will the two tanks have the same amount of water? Explain. Let x = the number of hours the tanks are filling and let y = the number of gallons in the tank.
A. In 2 hours, because the solution to the system is (2,18). B. They will never have the same amount of water because the solution to the system is (–2,18). It is not possible to have time be –2 hours. C. In –2 hours, because the solution to the system is (–2,18). D. They will never have the same amount of water because the solution to the system is (–2,18). It is not possible to have –2 gallons in the tanks. A, B, C, or D? Please explain (:
U sure the question is complete
I am.
Is it possible for one of these answers to complete the question?
I would go with B
Why would you go with B?
Because Tank A has 12 gallons of water which is more than of Tank B........ Also the rate at which the water is leaking is more in Tank B in Tank A ........ so practicaly it is not possible for the two tanks to have equal amount of water
Okay, thanks. (: That's what I figured lol.
Why is A the answer @Zekarias?
???
@Zekarias how A?????/
In two hours Tank A will have 6 gallon of water and Tank B will be empty.......... So, how A?
Correct, my bad........ i just take the revers
Okay.. cool. I was very curious to how you thought it was A, ha..
