OpenStudy (kaiz122):

integrate this one please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

integrate what?

OpenStudy (kaiz122):

\[\int\limits_{}^{} \frac{2xlnx}{\sqrt{x^{2}-9}} dx\]

OpenStudy (kaiz122):

with solution please. :)

OpenStudy (zarkon):

start with integration by parts

OpenStudy (kaiz122):

how? let u= lnx and dV= (x^2 -9)^1/2?

OpenStudy (zarkon):

why would dv be that?

OpenStudy (kaiz122):

i was just asking. :)

hartnn (hartnn):

keep u as ln x make dV = remaining function (entire)

OpenStudy (kaiz122):

oh.

OpenStudy (kaiz122):

i got \[lnx \sqrt{x^{2}-9} - \int\limits{\frac{\sqrt{x^{2} -9}}{x}} dx\] how to integrate this part ↑

OpenStudy (zarkon):

what happened to your 2

hartnn (hartnn):

are u missing a 2 ? and for 2nd integral, when you see x^2-a^2 you put x=a sec u

OpenStudy (kaiz122):

oh wait. there should be 2 anywhere there,

OpenStudy (kaiz122):

so its trigonometric substitution?

hartnn (hartnn):

yup, it will simplify the integration part.
