Use Elimination method..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1st Subtract Both the Equation to eliminate y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2x - y = 0 3x - y = 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Yahoo! so wat do i do? subtract wat

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2x - y = 0 - 3x - y = 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-5 y = -10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-5 - y = -10??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol -5x +0 = -10 x = 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nw find y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol ok so how do I find why I am so confussed lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its -4 cuz the multiple choice answers there is only one positive 2 :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The equivalent system created first is -2x -y = 0 -3x +y = 10 by multiplying the second equation by -1 Another equivalent system is created by adding those two equations together. 'Equivalent' simply means that it looks different, but means the same thing (has the same solutions).
