Or there's an easier way. When x-intercept, make y =0 When y- intercepts, make x =0

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

When x-intercept, make y =0 x –3y = 5 x - 3(0) = 5 x = 5 It means the line will cut the x-axis at 5. ------- When y- intercepts, make x =0 x –3y = 5 0 - 3y = 5 y = -5/3 It means the line will cut y-axis at -5/3

OpenStudy (henriquerb):

I'm sorry to bother you guys, i'm new here but, the solution is everything above the line?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Now comes the shading part. Solve the ineq for y. x –3y ≤ 5 -3y ≤ 5 - x \[3y \ge x - 5\] \[y \ge \frac{x-5}{3}\]

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Now since the the ineq is GREATER with y, we will shade the UPPER side of the line. So @henriquerb yes. You're right.

Thx @saifoo.khan <3 :D

You're welcome.
