Hi, go to Python.org and download the program. There are many version but you should download the 2.7.3. There are many options for 2.7.3, but I downloaded the 2.7.3 Window installer and it is working perfectly.

Make sure though. You have to download the version 2.7.3!!!
They don't usually support the 3.3.0 version. www.python.org 
They also have a awesome wiki page online running 24/7 
it is really helpful for every stages of programming with python.
If you want extra practice, www.codecademy.com it is 100% free and they give some exercises to work on. I used that website when I started learning python.
