1. Determine the zeros of f(x) = x3 – 3x2 – 16x + 48.

it is a third degree equation, so the zeros could be really ugly. then again it might have been cooked so that the zeros are hole numbers if so, they can only be divisors of 48, but there are a lot of them i would try easy numbers like 1, -1, 2, -2, 3 (bingo) but really i would cheat http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=+x3+%E2%80%93+3x2+%E2%80%93+16x+%2B+48
