How is poetry is an important genre to literature? I need Key points to write an essay on it.
Poetry is the representation of the unrepresentable, it explains the feelings and thoughts that we cant describe. Hope that helps
I guess this question is at least somewhat about testing your knowledge of how "poetry," "genre," and "literature" might be defined. I suppose the boring approach would be to start with the definitions thereof in your favourite dictionary or encyclopaedia, and spend a paragraph or three defining your terms. Bonus marks for finding great writers' definitions thereof in the original context. Super original tip: if you really want the truth about what can and can't be done in a poem, ask a translator ("Poetry is what is lost in translation" and all that). Then I'd move on to those literary sensations that only poetry can provide.
