Why would it not? The point of the Revolution was breaking away from Great Britain, not any kind of wholesale remaking of colonial society. Almost every aspect of colonial society that was true in 1775 was also true in 1795, except that king, Parlaiment, and the royal governors were replaced by the President, Congress, and elected governors.
