a total of 13 cheetahs and rhinoceroses lived in a park. if twice the number of cheetahs exceeded three fourths the number of rhinoceroses by four, how many of each animal lived in the park?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let the cheetahs be 'x' and rhinos be 'y' given x + y = 13 also given 2x = 3/4*y + 4 now you can find the answers. cant you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would you multiply by 2 to get x alone?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or divide

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to divide the second equation by x or better solution can be taken as find x or y from the first equation and put the value of x or y in second ;)

you get it?
