As far as I know there is no assignment that asks about this but it is basically your 'guess and check'. In other words "successively" guessing an answer to get a close "approximation" of the exact answer. I think this would be accurate.

Was that the part that talked about Heron of Alexandria's algorithm? I thought that was a really great example when he tried to find the square root of 25.
